Third graders participated in March Madness in reading as a STAAR Review! There were 5 stations, each consisting of a 2022 STAAR test passage and questions. Students had to move through the stations, answering questions to receive points in order to shoot a basketball into a basket! Each correct answer earned them a point and the point meant they could shoot the basketball into the basket. If they made a basket, they earned bonus points. Each station also had a “extension.”
Activity in case students completed the passage before time was up. All these extensions were basketball-related, like basketball coloring pages, basketball word searches, design your own basketball, as well as design your own basketball jersey! Students were also treated to cheeseballs at the end of the day. Tomorrow, students will also complete a basketball writing craft that we weren't able to do today. THESE KIDS ARE READY FOR THE READING STAAR!
